What is Dulcolax (Bisacodyl) 5mg Tablets For Constipation?
These tablets are designed to relieve the congestion in the bowel caused by constipation and help bowel movements return to their normal working order. The active ingredient, bisacodyl, works as a laxative that softens the stools in the bowel.
Who is Dulcolax suitable for?
Dulcolax Tablets are suitable for adults and children aged 10 and over. They are not suitable for anyone who is allergic to the ingredients in the tablets. These are:
- Maize starch
- Soluble maize starch
- Magnesium stearate
- Titanium dioxide (E171)
- The methacrylic acid-methylmethacrylate copolymer (1:1)
- The methacrylic acid-methylmethacrylate copolymer (1:2)
- Castor oil
- Macrogol 6000
- Yellow iron oxide (E172)
- White beeswax
- Carnauba wax
Can someone who is pregnant or breastfeeding take these tablets?
It is recommended that you do not take Dulcolax while you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Can Dulcolax be taken with other medicines?
If you are taking any other medication, prescribed or otherwise, contact your doctor before using Dulcolax.
How many tablets should I be taken a day?
You should take 1-2 tablets a day, before bedtime.
Are there any side effects?
A side effect will most likely occur as a result of an allergic reaction. If you do notice an allergic reaction, then contact your doctor as soon as possible.
